About us

Who we are — and what drives us.

25 years of television. Today: art on sails, film rights, cultural heritage. La Tresor gives things that already exist a new context.

Our activities are a symbiosis of cultural heritage and personal passions.

We are

As Tresor TV we made classic television for 25 years, trying much that was new along the way. Shows like Hugo, Supernanny, Popstars and Germany's Next Topmodel were milestones in television history — formats that moved millions and shaped popular culture.

At some point it became clear: we do not simply want to administer the past. We reoriented ourselves. Today we work where culture and passion meet — with art projects on sails, with the heritage of a pioneering filmmaker, and with archive material whose story is far from over.

What drives us

Our activities sound different at first glance — sails with street art, Leni Riefenstahl's film rights, underwater worlds, African cultures. The connection is the same stance: we give things that already exist a new context. A fresher, more honest, more vivid one.

"We offer inspiration" — that is not modesty, that is a programme.

Vela.Art — Sails as Canvas

"Sails can look like this too — if you dare!" That was the thought behind Vela.Art. We bring artists together with one of the world's oldest means of transport. The result is unique pieces that are at home between gallery and harbour — mobile artworks that open horizons.

The collection is growing. Find the current works at www.Vela.art.

Riefenstahl's Legacy

La Tresor manages the commercial rights to the estate of Leni Riefenstahl. She was one of the most controversial personalities of the 20th century — celebrated for her cinematic innovations, revered for her imagery, yet inextricably linked to her era. She paid a debt with her most valuable asset: her career.

We make her works accessible to the public in a fresh context — with the necessary care and without whitewashing.

Licences — Where We Come From

From our television history we hold rights to formats that became part of German popular culture: Popstars (2000–2014) with bands such as No Angels, Bro'Sis and Monrose; the youth series Fluch des Falken (164 episodes, now on Amazon Prime, KiKa and Arte); as well as the animated series Wiggle It. These archives form a long tail that accompanies us to this day.
